How your mind is made up by you
Ten Laws of the Mind
- Everybody is the maker of his own fortune - and also his misfortune.
- Personal opinions, beliefs and judgements are the fence around the playing field of life. Depending on the opinions, beliefs and judgements of a person, his playing
field is going to be either small or large.
- A person's character is the result of all his opinions, beliefs and judgements. Through his beliefs he molds himself into a particular shape. What he considers right
and true determines his life.
- Negative (inhibiting) beliefs are built in situations of extreme stress and trauma, for example, in a life crisis or an accident. Often they remain hidden as one
has no distance from them. Even when they are seen, they cannot be easily changed at will because the person is identified with them.
- Each game starts with a positive outlook, for example: "I'm going to make it!" The person plays in the direction of winning. As frustration creeps into
the game, a negative outlook is easily assumed, for example: "I'm never going to make it!" From now on the game is played in the direction of defeat. (This
way everybody writes their own life program.)
- Stress is created by positive and negative program phrases colliding with each other. The positive outlook remains intact yet the negative one works against it.
The person is pulled in two directions at once. Thus there is conflict and mental tension. This shows as depression, indecisiveness and inability to act.
- Negative program phrases can temporarily be covered up with positive ones, yet this doesn't make the negative ones disappear. The negative ones put the brakes on
the positive ones "from behind". It is for this reason that positive program phrases can only fully act on life when they aren't linked with negative ones
any more.
- Negative program phrases can be cancelled. To do so one must trace and re-experience the primal incident when the program phrase was first created.
- All unwanted conditions of life have a beginning point. Nothing has "always been like that". That's why everything can be changed.
- Most problems, even those of the body, have their origin in the mind. As the mind becomes balanced the body becomes healthy and life is fun.
